Home Instead Senior Care is owned in Sutton by local man Tony Ward. His wife Myrna is a fellow Director of their holding Company A & M Senior Care Services Limited and a Home Instead CAREGiver when not looking after their 11 year old son William. Tony has 3 more sons Simon, Matthew and Alistair and 4 grandchildren.
Tony was born in Carshalton and was educated at Wallington County Grammar School and remained in the Sutton area until the lure of life in Hong Kong took him away in 1994. Three years later, having met and married Myrna, they moved to Japan to work for a year before making a huge move to Botswana where Tony worked for Insurance giant AON for nearly nine years.
Tony's mother Amy came out to join Tony and the family aged 83 in 2003 and stayed with them until they all came back to Sutton in 2007. Unfortunately after 6 months in England Amy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and 3 months later in February 2008 sadly passed away.
It was during her illness that Tony and Myrna first became aware of some of the limitations within Social Care in this country when she received some less than satisfactory care and attention while at home before being admitted to hospital for the final time.
When, after 25 years in the Life, Investment and Pensions industry, Tony wanted to start his own business, the opportunity to redress and improve the situation within the elderly care sector led him to the welcoming doors of Home Instead Senior Care.
Once having met the Trevor Brocklebank and his team, as well as some other office owners, it was a very easy decision to join them as owner of the franchise in Sutton.
Outside of work Tony enjoys watching William take part in numerous swimming galas as well as compete in various Modern Pentathlon events across Southern England.
The Sutton, Surrey Home Instead Senior Care Office is part of a global network of more than 900 locally owned and operated offices.
