A special Christmas delivery brought extra festive cheer this week to elderly members of the community as the team from Home Instead Senior Care delivered Christmas cheer and mince pies to New Forge Place, Redbourn and Jersey Farm Day Centre St Albans.

Fiona Harrall, owner of the St. Albans office of the at-home care specialists and her team of Caregivers, looked the part as they arrived, resplendent in their jolly Santa hats. Everyone was delighted by the surprise and thoroughly enjoyed discussing their festive plans over tea and mince pies.

Commenting, Fiona said: “Everyone was pleased to see us and especially delighted with their mince pies. It was a lovely way to celebrate Christmas with the community.

“The Jersey Farm Day Centre is currently under threat of losing their funding. If this happens it would be a great shame as it would be an enormous loss for those who look forward to visiting each week.”

The team at Home Instead is very aware of how lonely older people can get at this time of year and Fiona is urging people in the area to pop in on neighbours, especially the elderly: “If you have a spare five minutes during the Christmas break, why not pop in to check on elderly neighbours and spread some festive spirit too!”
