We are Bryn and Jill Evans, the husband and wife team, who own and run the Barnsley Home Instead Senior Care office.
Home Instead Senior Care provides affordable non-medical home care services to adults and older people including companionship, home help and personal care. Its homecare service enables individuals to remain independent and avoid residential care homes.
We have lived in Barnsley for the majority of our lives and our 2 children, who went to local schools, still live in the town now that they are adults. We think a family business with a friendly face and great local knowledge is the best way to organise and deliver high quality care at home and to help create sustainable communities inclusive of all ages or disabilities.
We have personal experience of the great difficulties faced by older people and their loved ones. That includes the practical and emotional impacts of long term disability, Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia; these are things that have directly affected both Jill’s and my family
Jill has experienced first-hand problems when adults become unable to manage on their own. "My grandfather had dementia and was unable to manage by himself, at the time there were no services available to enable him to stay at home. He was admitted to a residential home where he passed away soon after. I am convinced, had there been a service to help him in his own home with domestic support such as shopping and cooking and his personal care, while keeping his independence, he would have remained happy at home and ultimately lived longer."
We are delighted to be able to provide a non-medical care service of exceptional quality for the older people of the community where we live. The work our team carries out has a positive impact, not only on the people we care for, but also their families and loved ones. This is so very important to us. The best way to sum up our aim is to say that we will only deliver home care services that we would be happy for a member of our own family to receive - and that's our promise.
