HAWKS RADIO AND HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE

Local at-home care company, Home Instead Senior Care, has joined forces with  Harlow Hawks Radio Station, HairZone Second avenue based in Leisure Zone, Carols Craft , and Harlow Football Club  to bring a heart warming new initiative to Harlow and Sawbridgeworth this Christmas.

The gift-giving scheme, called’ Be a Santa to a Senior’, will see gifts distributed amongst elderly people in our community.

The way it works is simple. Harlow Hawks Radio Station, HairZone Second avenue based in Leisure Zone, Carols Craft , and Harlow Football Club have a ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ Christmas tree on display. The tree is decorated with gift tags carrying the first name of a local person and the gift they would enjoy receiving. Members of the public can then buy an appropriate gift from the retailer and leave it with them for collection by the Home Instead team.

Speaking about ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’, owner of Home Instead in Sawbridgeworth David Bassett said, “We are really excited about the launch of this scheme and are delighted that Harlow Hawks Radio Station, HairZone Second avenue based in Leisure Zone, Carols Craft , and Harlow Football Club  have decided to partner with us to allow us to distribute gifts to people who really need them.

“We provide care to older people in their own homes. These people are assured of regular company from their CAREGivers but we are hoping that ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ will allow us to reach out to the many older people who, perhaps, don’t receive as many visitors as our clients and who would really appreciate knowing that local people are thinking about them this Christmas.”

‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ was launched in the United States in 2006 and, to date, the initiative has helped provide 1.2 million gifts to more than 700,000 older people.

In closing HairZone Wayne Rogers said, “We are more than happy to be working with Home Instead and helping to make ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ a huge success. The special trees are already on display and we are looking forward to receiving donations.”
