Home Instead Senior Care provides home care to clients in Oxford and surrounding towns, enabling them to stay as independent as possible in their own homes.
The Oxford office was established in 2009 and is owned by Sue Dunster.
Sue has many years experience in the Health and Social Care field as a nurse, previously a midwife and has a business delivering work based learning opportunities to staff within this sector.
Sue has a passion for Social Care and a drive to improve the quality of services for those receiving them, which led her to move towards Home Instead Senior Care. It stood out as being a very different model with quality at its heart and the passion to change the face of ageing.
Heike Milner is the care manager and together with her team, she is here to guide you and your family into making the right decision for the care you may require.
Our Caregivers have in-depth training and are selected for their compassion and respect for the elderly. They share our commitment to deliver the best quality care to every one of our clients. It is our goal to provide a high quality service to our clients and to have a contented, happy workforce.
Our response to the recent media coverage regarding poor quality home care:
Home Instead Senior care prides itself on putting the needs of the client uppermost at all times.
This is how we are different
• Minimum of 1 hour calls ensure carers have the time to focus on the client. We do not enter into block contracts which force the providers into delivering 15 minute slots of task orientated care
• A care consultation ensures that the care is tailored to the client’s needs, rather than being a simple task focused check list. This is then followed with regular quality assurance visits.
• Continuity of care, whereby clients are visited by the same carer on each visit, ensures that relationships are built
• Carers do not wear uniforms as client feedback has shown that they create a barrier and also a stigma, particularly when a carer takes a client out in to the community
Quality care cannot be delivered in short duration home visits. The ‘one size fits all’ approach might be commercially convenient but the reality is that quality care begins with an individual and that’s where we start. The Oxford Home Instead Senior Care Office is part of a global network of more than 900 locally owned and operated offices.
