We here at Home Instead Senior Care Oxford, have been spreading Christmas cheer by hosting a Christmas party at the Baptist Church Hall in Kidlington for fifty elderly clients and their caregivers.

Home Instead provides tailored care to the elderly in the community so that they can stay in their own homes for as long as possible and at this festive period it can be a lonely time for many older people.

Whilst many people are happy to cater for a small number of guests at Christmas, both owner Sue Dunster and Care Manager, Heike Milner decided to ‘think big’ and host a party for more than 50 people.

We took on the enormous task of shopping, preparing and cooking Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Sue commented, “The Christmas party was a great success. It was lovely that so many of our clients could attend and thanks must go to our fabulous caregivers who made it possible for our elderly clients to come along, by providing transport and escorting them during the day. Everyone enjoyed present giving and the raffle was a resounding success.”

All our clients and caregivers left the party having had a wonderful time with a small gift and of course a piece of Christmas cake! There certainly was plenty of praise for Sue and Heike from the clients for all the wonderful food. Some commented that it was so nice to spend time chatting with other people their age.
