Oldham's Be a Santa to a Senior campaign was a great success due to the generosity of the local community and the help of Tesco. Over 200 presents were collected, mostly at the Tesco Extra store on Huddersfield Rd, Oldham. The presents were then distributed, with the help of local organisations, to older people in their own homes who otherwise may not have received a present.

Owner of the Home Instead office in Oldham & Saddleworth, Mick Sheehan said "This is the first year we've run the campaign and we've been delighted by the support and response. We set a goal of collecting 100 presents to give to local older people who had been identified as being isolated in their own homes and we achieved over double this amount". Mick added "a lot of the thanks needs to go to Tesco, the team in store led by Beth and Amy were very motivated to make this a success and spread some festive cheer".

The team at Home Instead and Tesco aim to build on this success for Christmas 2014 and make the campaign bigger and better.
