Carers from Home Instead Senior Care Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk have been busy knitting little hats for Age Uk North Yorkshire’s ‘Spread the Warmth’ winter campaign with innocent Smoothie drinks. Each hat knitted to sit on each bottle will raise 25p for each one sold and the money raised will go towards road shows and forums in the Hambleton area reaching out to older people and advising them on how to keep warm this winter.
Margaret Brice the manager of Age Uk North Yorkshire in Northallerton, said that the response has been fantastic and they have received in total 2000 of these little knitted hats which will help raise important funds for information and advice to older people living in the area on how to keep warm this winter.
Sheena Van Parys of Home Instead Senior Care commented it was great to get involved with this project as the cold winter weather can bring numerous problems for older people, so to help Age UK North Yorkshire with this event was a great opportunity for us and our carers enjoyed knitting for such a good cause.
