Telford and Wrekin Senior Citizens ForumBased in Lightmoor, Telford, Shropshire, the Telford and Wrekin Senior Citizens Forum provide a valuable service for older citizens in all parts of the Telford and Wrekin Borough, including Newport, Shropshire. The Forum, made up of over 1800 members, organises regular meetings to discuss issues, including care at home, that are of current concern to older people in the Telford and Newport area, and decide on appropriate follow up action. As a collective voice, the Telford and Newport Forum inform government departments, the local Telford and Wrekin council, the Shropshire Primary Care Trust, Telford and Wrekin social services and other organisations in the Telford and Newport area of the needs of older people living independently in Telford and Newport. Home Instead Senior Care regularly attends the Telford and Newport Meetings and fully support the work that is done. Highlighting the many issues that are important to older people, including the provision of homecare in the home, for those living in the Telford and Newport is crucial. Caring Enterprises brings together expertise from the private and voluntary sector to create new services within the care sector, in particular support for family carers and those they care for.Respite Solutions – Holidays and Short Breaks for carers. The service launched in July 2011 provides support for carers in finding breaks on their own or with the person they care for. They can provide information on suitable accommodation, domiciliary care, short-term residential or nursing home care and equipment hire based on your requirements.
