To celebrate its first year in business, Home Instead Senior care, which provides care at home to older people in the Cheltenham and Cotswolds area, organised its '1st Birthday Open Morning' on 7th September. Clients and their families, Caregivers and members of the local business community and charitable organisations were all invited.

The 'Open Morning' began at 11am with The Mayor of Cheltenham, Councillor Colin Hay officially cutting the birthday cake. Fundraising in the form of a raffle also took place, with all proceeds going to Parkinson's UK in Gloucestershire.

The event was a great opportunity for all who attended to chat over coffee and cake about the importance of high quality care for older people in their own homes. A wide range of information about other local services and support was also on hand.

In his opening speech the Mayor congratulated the Home Instead team on reaching their first birthday and commented on the personalised approach which Home Instead takes to caring for people at home.

Owner of Home Instead Senior Care Amanda Hamer thanked everyone helping to make the celebration such a special occasion. She went on to stress the importance of all staff in maintaining such a high quality of service to each individual client and their family. Michelle Keeble-Hawkes and Deidre Mackie who are based in the office and all of the Caregivers were recognised for the fantastic service they provide to local people every day. Amanda also stressed the importance of the many organisations that were represented at the event in providing a wide range of services to older people and which Home Instead connects up with to ensure a truly holistic approach to care.

Finally, Amanda talked about the need to further expand  the current team of Caregivers over the next six months due to the demand for care in the area around Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Cirencester and the Cotwolds. She encouraged people in the local area to join the team for a rewarding career in care with full training given.

Further information about becoming a Caregiver is available from the Home Instead office on 01242 513203 or by completing the online enquiry under 'contact us' on the website.
