Home Instead Senior Care, whose local office is based in Broadstairs, has won the HSBC Award for Enterprise at the British Franchise Association (BFA) awards.

Home Instead Senior Care’s service, which allows older people to continue living in their own homes, is tailored to the needs of individual clients and ranges from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In winning the award the Home Instead team were told that they have “clearly developed creative business strategies to overcome some tough challenges, which otherwise would have hindered growth and development. The company has also demonstrated perseverance and determination, establishing more effective ways of running its business.”

Kevan Barr, Linda Johnson and her sister, Margaret Rose, who own and run the Broadstairs office, said: "We are immensely proud of the changes that Home Instead has already made to the lives of thousands of older people and their families across the UK and of our work here in the Broadstairs area. Winning this national award is a superb endorsement of all we have achieved and a huge motivator to everyone within our businesses, and it is fantastic to see this publicly recognised.

“We are passionately committed to providing the highest levels of care to our clients and believe all older people should have access to care services that provide them with the dignity and respect they deserve. It is a privilege to serve so many older people.”
