A new service specialising in caring for older people in their own homes has opened its doors in Rotherham this week and owners David and Karen Coldrick will create 40 new jobs in the area. Home Instead Senior Care will offer non-medical at-home care for older people living in the area.
For owners David and Karen Coldrick, this exciting new venture is a change from their former careers in law and education welfare respectively, and a labour of love following personal family experiences.
David picks up the story: “Karen’s mother has struggled with a long term illness and therefore we are acutely aware of the importance of high-calibre care for older people. We both wanted to find a career that allowed us to make a difference to others and give something back and therefore when we found out about Home Instead, we knew it was the right move for us!”
Both David and Karen are passionate about their new venture and are keen to start meeting older people from across their area, and make a real difference to their lives by allowing them to live independently for as long as possible. David says: “In order to achieve the highest-standards of at-home care we are on the lookout for kind, compassionate and like-minded individuals who may be interested in joining the company and helping with this mission!”
David and Karen have three grown up children and in their spare time they enjoy reading, history and travelling and have made a bucket list of all the places they would like to visit in their lifetime!
