Many thanks to Parkinson’s UK training officer Fiona Barrett, who visited Edinburgh last week to deliver a course to a team of our caregivers; Jacqui, our care manager & Joanna and myself.
During the afternoon we all learnt more about Parkinson’s and improved our understanding of the different challenges people living with Parkinson’s face.
Our final task, a case study, was particularly enjoyable. It allowed us to reflect on the importance of taking time to really understand the individual needs of each Parkinson’s client; and then how to support their needs, without taking over.
