Phil Eckersley, owner of local home care provider Home Instead Senior Care, joined in the celebrations for Carers Rights Day at the Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre in Hindley on Friday 2nd December. Home Instead pride themselves in supporting carers in the community, whilst providing respite care services for their loved one's when carers really need it.
The day was full of activities and treats for unpaid carers in the community to get involved in. Carers were able to help themselves to coffee, tea, cookies and plenty of cakes! There was also a number of visitors to the Carers Centre, providing taster sessions in holistic therapies, flower arranging, financial advise and general support for the Carers who attended.
Commenting on the occassion, Phil said "It was a great day, and a real treat for all the unpaid carers in the local area who do an invaluable job in the community supporting loved one's, family members and friends to live as independantly as possible."
