Winter Warmer Tips

As the nights draw in and the forecast for snow nears, Home Instead is offering some simple advice for older people to help you to stay safe and  warm this winter.

• Make sure you have lots of soups and stews with plenty of warm drinks
• Keep moving to help you stay warm, even if this is walking around the house. You could try some simple exercises while sitting in your chair.
• Make sure that you are wearing plenty of layers
• Make sure that you have had your flu jab that you are entitled to.

Even if you feel that you don’t require help yourself, bad weather can often lead to increased social isolation, so remember that home Instead can offer such services as companionship and home help during this winter. We can escort you to appointments as well as a range of specialised services such as Alzheimer’s and dementia care as well as respite services.
We are able to provide these services across Oxford and the surrounding villages.
