With Mark having served as an Officer in the Royal Navy, we were delighted to host the local branch of the British Legion during their two week Remembrance Campaign this November, 2011. 'Poppy Central', as our meeting room soon became known, was a hive of activity with poppies, wreaths and collection boxes all being delivered, distributed and dropped off to the efficient, friendly volunteers. It was a truly special fortnight for many reasons, from the lovely volunteers and community members we met, the youthful spirit of the cadets collecting on Saturday to the sombre and heartfelt service given on Remembrance Sunday.
