Over the years our services have evolved to meet the needs of more and more elderly people and this includes those living with life limiting disease and illness. We also recognise the need to support family members, allowing them to live well with their loved ones during the final months, days and weeks of their lives.
We recognise and embrace national and local initiatives to enhance the quality of life of those members of our communities who are in receipt of palliative care. Our aim is to work in partnership with the ill person, their families and members of the health and social care teams to allow ‘a good death’ to be achieved.
The services provided by Home Instead can be delivered working alongside a local hospice or at home and our dedicated Caregivers receive specialist training in End of Life Care.
Our ethos is in complete accordance with the aims and purpose of the National End of Life Care Programme in supporting people to live and die well. We aim to treat each person as an individual, facilitating care with family and friends involved, according to the client’s wishes which in turn allows the client to feel in control of their life until they die. Our care continues after death when we support the family and friends until they feel able to stand alone.
