Every 70 seconds, somewhere in the world, a person is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
In India it is estimated that 3.7 million people are affected by the disease and this is set to double by 2050 to around 8 million with only a handful of day centres to look after these people (Alzheimer's Society of India). It is also believed that a 1/3 of current sufferers (around 1.2 million) are not receiving any care or treatment.
