Alzheimer Scotland is Home Instead’s charity of the year, and over the coming twelve months we will be fundraising to support the works of their early onset dementia support service in the Lothians.
Andrew was recently speaking to Teresa Straczynska about the work she does as a dementia advisor in Edinburgh. When she mentioned the early onset team it struck a chord, as a few years ago a good family friend who had early onset dementia passed away.
The Early Onset team have a range of services for people up to the age of 65 with a diagnosis of dementia. As well as information, support and advice; they offer day clubs, cafes and a polish befriending service. The Lothian Early Onset Support Service can be contacted on 0131 551 9350.
