Jane has 13 years of professional experience with The Parkinson’s Disease Society in the care and management of Parkinson's Disease, having worked with people afflicted by this complex and misunderstood illness.
She is now a freelance trainer and her aim is to help carers develop a greater understanding of this progressive disease of the nervous system through tailor-made training sessions and workshops for all professional carers including social workers, care staff and nurses.
The training covers a wide range of topics including the practicalities of living and coping with Parkinson's as well as the symptoms and fluctuations of the disease. It also looks at the treatment of the illness through drugs and alternative therapies.
We found her talk provided valuable insight into living with the disease and all caregivers who attended agreed they felt they now had a deeper understanding of clients with the condition.
Jane is available for lectures by calling her direct on 07770-924-797.
Following Jane’s talk, we had a get-together with refreshments and a raffle raising £20 for Parkinson’s UK.
