An award-winning service which helps elderly people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible has welcomed Lucy Jackson, aged 28, from Warwick, to their team in the role of Care Manager.
Lucy brings a wealth of experience having begun her career in care, at the age of 18, working part-time whilst still at Warwickshire College studying for a GNVQ in Health & Social Care (Advanced). Since then she has worked for a number of private care companies and has spent the last six years as a Home Care Supervisor for Warwickshire County Council.
Commenting on her appointment Lucy said, “I love working in the care sector and have joined Home Instead Senior Care because I wanted to work for a quality-driven provider which really makes a difference to people’s lives. I totally support the strong ethos of Home Instead, in particular that they allow caregivers the time necessary to build close relationships with their clients.”
Lucy says that it is her grandparents who have inspired her to do her job to the best of her ability. She explains, “I see them regularly and take them to bingo every Friday evening which is great fun - my nan has dementia and my grandad is disabled, so I understand the issues facing families and their loved ones.”

She landed her first part-time job at the age of 13 and took out a pension at the tender age of 14, demonstrating a real ‘get on with it’ attitude. She’s just the sort of person we need to help our business succeed.”
Home Instead in South Warwickshire provides a range of services tailored to the needs of individual clients including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The business was set up in March by business partners Phil Maundrill and Phil Wright-Howarth.
