Lorna, our first CAREGiver to complete her advanced Alzheimer’s Training course was presented with her certificate recently at our South Bucks office. This training programme was devised specifically for Home Instead CAREGivers in partnership with The George C Glenner Alzheimer Family Centre in California USA. The purpose of the training Programme is to provide CAREGivers with a range of skills and techniques for clients with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, including;–
- Recognising the symptoms of Alzheimer’s and diseases that look similar.
- Building a relationship with those who have the disease.
- Working within a client’s own home.
- Managing difficult behaviors’.
- Helping those with the disease remain independent for as long as possible.
