As demand for care of the elderly in the UK increases, Bolton is no exception. To meet this demand a business specialising in caring for the elderly in their own homes has opened an office in Bolton and is looking to create 40 jobs in the area.
Born and bred in Bolton, local man, David Deller and business partner, Steve Williams from Warrington are behind the new office of the national award winning home care company, Home Instead Senior Care which will cover Egerton, Edgworth, Horwich, Blackrod, Lostock, Harwood and the surrounding areas.
Commenting, David said “I have always wanted to work in the community that I grew up in and build a business around helping others. There has been a lot of negativity around the care industry for not delivering the right kind of care and I want to change this. After trying to find a quality at-home care service for my own elderly relatives, my family and I were left with no choice, the only option was a residential care home. Now I want to make people aware that they have a choice. At Home Instead we offer care for older people in their own home, services are tailored to suit each individual and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Steve has worked at the head office of Home Instead Senior Care for the past four years and supports all of their offices across the UK. Steve’s experience led him to want to open his own office and provide this choice of care to the people of Bolton.
David and Steve want to talk to local people with compassionate and caring natures who are interested in working with elderly people. Candidates don’t need to have experience in the care sector as they will receive excellent training, but they may well have experience looking after a relative or friend.
Services are flexible to the needs of each at-home client. These can include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medications; home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties; and companionship services that can involve everything from escorting clients on visits or appointments to simple conversation and good company.
Whilst the principal services involve the day-to-day care of older people in their own homes, Home Instead also provides a range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and dementia care, convalescence and respite care.
