Home Instead Senior Care Ascot, Camberley & Wokingham would like to thank Louise Hartman of Parkinson’s UK, who joined us last week to present the "Towards an Understanding of Parkinson's" seminar for our CAREGivers. This formed a part of our programme of ongoing CAREGiver training and professional development.
Caring for people with Parkinson’s present’s particular challenges because of the progressive and fluctuating nature of the condition, the crucial importance of timely administration of medication and the general lack of awareness of the condition within the general population.
The Parkinson's UK presentation provided detailed information on caring for someone with Parkinson's and gave us all an insight into the problems people can face each day. The practical information will help us care for those of our clients who are dealing with Parkinson's and to provide help and support to their families.
Home Instead shares Parkinson’s UK's belief that it is critically important to spend extended time caring for people with Parkinson’s. Home Instead’s hourly minimum visit ensures that our carers can fulfil all the non-medical needs for companionship and personal care required by the person with Parkinson’s to ensure that they can lead their life as independently as possible.
If you want to find out more about the type of services that Home Instead can offer people with Parkinson’s, please call us on 01344 233147.
