Home Instead Senior Care in Peterborough formally presented the fruits of their sponsored cycle ride to the local Market Deeping charity on Saturday 28th July. Amy and Phil from Home Instead completed a gruelling 23 mile sponsored cycle ride and raised £60 for the charity that required the much needed funds to enable them to host a monthly ‘Simple Soup Lunch and Get Together’ aimed at the older residents in the market town.
Amy commented ‘As soon as Phil found out that the local charity were looking for help to raise money for the urn we didn't hesitate in agreeing to do a sponsored cycle ride for them – although we were rather sore the day after! But it is a great charity that helps support so many older people locally and so we were delighted when the organisers, Julie and Dorothy asked if we would come along and present the urn at their group lunch. It was wonderful to see firsthand where the money has been spent and to see the difference it makes to the people that attend’.
