Age UK Farnborough’s group organiser Sandy Dunsby kindly invited me to be a guest speaker and afterwards, to chat with her guests at the Community Centre. The group meets twice each week and Sandy and her colleagues work hard to organise a range of activities for those attending, including lunch of course! I very much enjoyed sitting and talking with those at the group. I learned a great deal from hearing about some of the challenges older people face, and some of the situations they have to deal with, often without a partner for support, or to share their concerns with. The Age UK group is an invaluable resource for many people.
I talked about how Home Instead Senior Care is changing the way care is delivered in the UK. The service is tailored to the needs of individual clients and ranges from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands. I'm pleased to have been invited back to talk again this week on Friday 27th July!
