Phil and Amy from Home Instead Senior Care successfully completed a 23 mile cycle ride on the 10th June to help raise money for a local charity in Market Deeping, near Peterborough.
Phil adds 'When I heard that the charity and St Guthlacs church was raising money to enable a new Saturday Soup and Social club to start in the local area for older people we knew we wanted to help in whichever way we could, although when Amy and I decided to complete a 23 mile cycle ride from Oundle to Market Deeping we did not factor in quite how much pain we would be in the next day, but it has all been worth it.'
Phil and Amy managed to raise enough money to pay for two soup kettles for the club, and they look forward to presenting the kettles to the new group at the July lunch. Julie Banks that runs the charity thanked Amy and Phil in the latest edition of the St Guthlacs Church parish magazine adding 'We are very grateful for their generosity and hope they'll (Phil and Amy) stay on to eat lunch with the club'.
