Lorna Bath, owner of the Home Instead Stourbridge office, and Nicola Kirkham Care Manager are proud to have supported this year’s Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Appeal.

Lorna volunteered to help by delivering and then collecting boxes of Marie Curie Daffodils and collection tins to around 20 local businesses, GP surgeries, dentists, coffee shops and pubs. The appeal runs each year to raise awareness and funds to pay for Marie Curie nurses.

Marie Curie nurses are specially trained nurses who offer night sitting services for people suffering from cancer, a service which offers invaluable help and support not only to the person themselves but also to family members. “Home Instead is about providing quality care enabling people to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible, and there are times when some of our clients or their families can benefit from the skills and services offered by the Marie Curie nurses, and so we are pleased that we have been able to help support them in our own small way” commented owner Lorna Bath.

Having collected the tins back in and banked all of the monies, Lorna and Nicola are pleased to report that over £545 was raised from the 20 tins! A big thank you to the 20 organisations who sold daffodils and to everyone who donated some money.
