Double Appointments for Home Instead

At-home care company, Home Instead Senior Care in Wolverhampton is delighted to announce the appointment of two new team members, Care Manager, Mandy Hughes and Recruitment and Retention Manager, Carol Brown.

Mandy brings 14 years’ experience as a qualified social worker and manager to the role of Care Manager. She has worked for local authorities in both Telford and Shropshire, starting out as a deputy warden looking after elderly and vulnerable people in sheltered housing. Her last role was managing access to support services for all young people and specialist services for young people with disabilities and complex needs.

Mandy knows from her own experience, and also that of her grandparents with dementia, that, due to the high demand on resources, it isn’t always possible to access the support that people need through social care. That’s why, when she was looking for a new challenge and discovered Home Instead, she identified with their caring company ethos and wanted to be part of it.

As Care Manager, Mandy is committed to providing a quality service and ensuring that Home Instead continually meets and exceeds clients’ expectations and is flexible and reactive to their needs.

Recruitment and Retention Manager, Carol Brown is experienced at working in a team and understands the importance of recruiting compassionate people to the role of CAREGiver and providing them with excellent training and support. Through her own experience when her elderly mother was diagnosed with dementia, Carol knows the importance of paying attention to detail. Carol explains: “One small example I always refer to is the importance of serving food on warm plates. I know that busy people can probably live without this for themselves but to an elderly person who may eat much more slowly, this shows a better level of care and it can actually make food more appetising.”

Home Instead Senior Care provides domiciliary care for the elderly in the community which includes companionship, personal care, home help, meal preparation, errands and medication reminders. This tailored service is available from an hour a week to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
