Home Instead Senior Care in Chester, a company specialising in providing care for the elderly in their own homes, has secured funding to help them provide training for their team of 80 local caregivers.
The company, which opened its doors in 2006, is currently providing care for over 100 people in the Chester area and places great emphasis on the training and development of its team.
The funding has come from the Learning Resource Network, a government body who provide specialist training support for companies in the care sector, and is being provided by Acacia Training,
Home Instead are using the money to deliver monthly courses, some of which are mandatory such as ‘moving and handling’ and ‘first aid’. Other courses which give the team a broader knowledge base include ‘dementia, incontinence and catheter care’, and ‘nutrition awareness’.
In addition to the actual training courses the funding has enabled Home Instead to customise and fit out their training suite with specialist training tools and equipment such as hoists and beds.
