Barbara - Care Manager & Heather - Owner
Barbara Hedge, Care Manager at Home Instead Senior Care in Welwyn and Hatfield, has just achieved Level 5 CACHE Diploma in Leadership of Health & Safety Care LLC, the highest professional development qualification in leadership in the care sector.
The qualification, awarded by CACHE, the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to lead others including different leadership styles, personal evaluation, and encouraging, motivating, supporting and empowering others.
Barbara lives in the village of Bramfield situated between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford. She has been working in the home care sector for several years and is a firm believer in doing whatever is possible to help older people maintain their choice and independence. She explains:
“I know how much people trust the team at Home Instead and that we can really make a difference to the quality of life for older people in our local communities. It is my job to ensure that we consistently deliver high quality care to our clients and we always go the extra mile, for example, in matching our care givers to clients, something like that can make a huge difference to people. Also with a minimum of one hour calls so clients do get quality time given and thus feel extremely well supported”
