Home Instead Senior Care Leek Moorlands is delighted to announce two new additions to its team - apprentices Charlotte Brunt and Emma Bestwick. The youngsters have been placed with the company through Skillsbase, a part of Leek College dedicated to organising and supporting various apprenticeships across the area.
Charlotte, aged 17, is completing her business administration NVQ level 2, and is also working as a young leader at the local Brownie group. Emma is a 20-year-old single mum and is working towards her apprenticeship in business administration, key skills and NVQ level 2.
Both women are keen to learn more about a rewarding career which allows older people live independently in their own home. Home Instead owner Carol Lovatt said 'People are often surprised that apprenticeships are available in the care profession. Although obviously these girls will not be visiting clients just yet, we believe they can learn a lot from getting involved in our business and hope that they will find our career as rewarding and fulfilling as we do.'
Charlotte and Emma will be focusing mainly on office duties, as well as getting involved with networking, scheduling and finances and learning valuable key communication and team-working skills.
Home Instead Senior Care services are tailored to the needs of individual clients, and range from companionship, meal preparation, light house-keeping, post-discharge care, personal care and medication reminders, to shopping and errands.
