No-one can deny that it’s been a long, cold winter but the signs of Spring are now all around us. Local home care business owners Mark Darnell and Elaine Lomax of Home Instead Senior Care decided to ‘spring’ a surprise on their elderly clients with the gift of some beautiful daffodils last week.
The idea for the Spring surprise came to Mark and Elaine as they discussed how it was the small things that can make such a difference in all our lives, and especially those of their elderly clients, many of whom live on their own.
Mark and Elaine called on local florist, Sarah Buckby, owner of Agatha Bumblebee Floristry and Gifts of Sheep Street Kettering, and ordered 70 bunches of daffodils which they then delivered to clients. One lucky recipient, Irene Wilson of Thrapston, said: “It’s lovely to have flowers in the house and bring a bit of that Spring colour indoors where I can enjoy it. What a lovely surprise to see Mark and Elaine who arrived with the daffs when my caregiver Kerry was with me. It made my day.”
